Dates: July 2nd – 8th
Accommodation: Girls and Boys dorms are located in the centre over looking the Fjord in 6 bed bedrooms.
Killary Centre is located on the Wild Atlantic Way over looking Ireland’s only fjord on the southern shores of Killary harbour, 5km from the village of Leenane, Co. Galway on the N59. Driving time from Galway city is approximately 1hr, 30minutes from both Westport and Clifden.
Killary camps are designed for boys and girls aged from 10-16. A packed schedule of Daily Adventure Activities, Workshops and Sports steeped in a maths centred curriculum.
This camp gives young students a great opportunity to get to grips with the key mathematical concepts while having an absolute ball. A great mix of physical activity, creative projects and dynamic maths workshops create a truly remarkable learning environment over looking the only Fjord in Ireland.
Typical Summer Camp Timetable: A typical day on our summer camps starts with breakfast at 8.30 with activities starting at 9.30. We strive to strike just the right balance between the time spent on the workshops (Creative & Maths), adventure and social activities. Creative workshops include music technology and film production while the adventure activities include a wide range including kayaking, giant swing, gorge walking, ringo rides, water trampolining, archery, turf challenge, laser combat, raft building and assault courses.
Generally workshops will take place in the mornings, physical activities in the afternoons and creative projects and social events in the evenings although this does change depending on weather and other factors. Our timetables are weather dependent in some instances so we adapt timetables accordingly.
